When you’re setting up a new business there are many things to consider and lots of choices to make. These can be anything from designing a logo to setting your prices and pretty much everything in between. You might be wondering though if business cards are really something you need in this digital age.

I was recently gifted some business cards from Aura Print to review and it got me thinking about all the different ways you can use business cards to your advantage in any type of business, including the wedding industry.

5 Reasons You Need Business Cards For Your Wedding Business

The wedding industry is one that has been hit particularly hard by the covid-19 pandemic and unfortunately, many wedding businesses won’t have survived.

However, as the world is now slowly opening up, it’s time to start putting your business back out there. Whether you sell wedding products on Etsy or Bridal gowns from a store, business cards are a small yet simple and relatively cheap way to advertise your business.

While we can always find a multitude of information online, I do think there is still a need for a physical copy of a businesses details to be out there too.

Here are five reasons you need business cards for your wedding business:

1. Wedding Fayres

Hopefully, in the coming months, we’ll see the return of wedding fayres. These can be the perfect opportunity to get your business out there and as a vendor business cards are a must.

Make sure they are easily accessible on your stall, accessible with any freebies you’re giving out and ask if it’s possible for them to be included in any goody bags the event organisers are giving out.

2. Business Card Swaps

Building relationships with other small businesses can be a great way to network. If you have a bricks and mortar store, then why not try approaching some other business for a business card swap.

You offer to display their business cards by your till or front desk area and in exchange, they do the same for you. Make sure you approach other businesses that are a good fit such as beauty salons, hairdressers, cake makers, caters, wedding venues and so on.

3. Part of Your Packaging

If you’re an online business selling wedding or bridal products then you could include a business card with each parcel or package you send out. Often, especially with places like Etsy, people might to even remember the name of the store they bought from, so this would be a lovely reminder.

It can also be the perfect time to upsell if you have more than one wedding-related business.

4. Not Everyone is Digital

While the majority of us are fairly internet savvy these days, it’s worth remembering that not everyone is.

Having a physical business card to hand out stops the problem of someone not having a signal or dead battery when wanting to look up your Facebook or Instagram page for example.

5. Professionalism

At the end of the day, a business that has business cards simply looks and feels more professional.

Aura Print Review – Where To Buy Business Cards

I was recently gifted some business cards by Aura Print which are pictured below. I was really happy with their service and the quality of the cards I received. I’m hoping it won’t be long until I can be handing them out at blogging events again!

While I love writing about weddings here on my wedding bog, I chose just to include my main blog and email address on my business cards to help keep them sleek and simple and not provide an overwhelming amount of information to potential clients.

Aura Print will help you design your business cards or they are happy for you to create something yourself and simply send them the PDF to work from. Even if you’ve designed the business cards yourself, they are happy to discuss ways you could improve them and will still send proofs before printing.

They offer a huge range of stationery so are worth checking out for any other needs you may have too.

If you’re a bride reading this they also do invitations 😉

Tips For Creating Business Cards With Aura Print

If you’ve never created business cards before then you might be a little nervous about getting started or getting things right.

Here are my top tips:

  • More is less. Don’t try to add too much information or all of your social media to your business cards.
  • Font matters. Make sure it’s legible – get someone else to proof it for you if you’re unsure.
  • Try to use your brand colours – if you don’t know them there are apps that can help you colour match from your website or business banners.
  • Double-check all the information before sending them to be printed – there’s nothing worse than discovering a misspelling or wrong phone number too late!
  • White on black may look chic but it can be really difficult for some people to read.
  • Think about the ethics of your business, for example, if you’re proud of your eco credentials, Aura Print offers business cards made from recycled materials.

I think that business cards are a must for any business, big or small. They are such an easy way to advertise your brand and look professional, even if you’re only just starting out.

I was so happy with my business cards from Aura Print – they are of excellent quality and their website is the perfect place to start when designing business cards for any type of business.
