1. Tell Your Photographer If Your Feeling Nervous

If you’re feeling nervous then definitely tell your photographer.

They are there to get the best photographs of you possible and they will do everything they can to put you at ease and try and alleviate some of your worries.

2. Talk About Your Insecurities

Talking about things we don’t like about ourselves can be hard. We are also far more critical of ourselves than other people are. Often we see flaws that other people probably wouldn’t even notice.

I recently had a photo shoot for my business and the photographer asked about why I didn’t like having my photo taken. I explained some of the things that I felt self-conscious about and she was so kind about them. She didn’t push me to do anything I was uncomfortable with but sharing with her really made me feel more comfortable and relaxed for the rest of our session.

Also, photographers know their stuff. They can help you to stand in a more flattering position etc if that’s something you want.

3. Choose A Beautiful Location

Ahhh, location, location, location. Choose somewhere amazing for your photoshoot. Personally, I love the idea of pre-wedding photoshoots in the countryside but city parks can be amazing.

If you’re out of ideas, then ask your photographer as they may be able to suggest somewhere amazing for your shoot to take place.

4. Wear Complimentary Colours

Wearing complimentary colours can really help your photographs look cohesive without needing to match completely.

If your photoshoot is taking place in woodlands or a forest avoid wearing green or brown as you might end up blending in!

5. Pre Wedding Photoshoot Tips:  Show Off Your Engagement Ring

If you didn’t have an engagement shoot, this could be the perfect time for some pictures that really show off your engagement ring in all its glory.

6. Bring Your Furry Friend

Check with your photographer first, but it’s not often we get proper photographs with our pets. If you have a beloved dog bring them along for some fabulous images that you’ll be sure to treasure for years to come.

7. Leave Your Bags/Coats etc In The Car (or at home!)

When it comes to your pre wedding shoot, you’ll want to leave as much baggage as you can either at home or in the car.

You don’t want to be continually picking it up and putting it down for each photograph!
